Palace Museum of Beijing, formerly known as the Forbidden City, is situated in the center of Beijing. It was built between 1406 and 1420. One of the rule the builders followed was the central line of symmetry of the Forbidden City should coincide with the central line of symmetry of the whole Beijing City. The palace has 9000 halls and rooms. It was used as the imperial palace by 24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties. You’ll see here many precious relics and things that belonged to the inhabitants of the palace. Do you know that it’s the largest palace in the world! The palace is included into the list of the World Natural and Cultural Heritages.
