The tour "To the Sacred peaks"
A trip to Transbaikalien National Park. Climbing the mountains of the largest
peninsula of the Lake Baikal, Sviatoy Nos (the highest peak among them is 1877
m). You'll start from Ust-Barguzin village by car. A trip across the esthmus of
the peninsula first, the second, your way runs along sand beaches of the
biggest bay of the Lake Baikal, Barguzinsky Bay. You'll see how plants differ
the higher you climb to the top: high trees disappear and short dwarf Siberian
pines come instead of them.
Climbing is of 2 levels. If it's hard to reach the top you can stop at the
edge of the forest. An even in this case you'll get an exciting view of 2
largest bays of the Lake Baikal and a view of the Arangatuy Lake. You'll find
a plat at the very top of the peninsula and of cause the view you'll get
from here is much wider. If weather is fine archipelago of Ushkanyi
islands is just in front of you. Just realize, you will be able to see places
which are in 100 km distance from you! It's a little bit hard but it's worth
seeing!
