The tour "Barguzin Valley"
The tour starts from Ust-Barguzin. The ancient land, Bargudzhim Tokum, is situated 50 km from the lake Baikal in
a picturesque valley of Barguzin river between two snow-covered mountain ridges. An old legend
says that Barguzin valley was the native land of Chingiskhan's Mother. The
valley is rich in old relicts, natural and archeological memorials. You'll see
sacred places of Buryats, they are bull-stone and healing springs. Rock
paintings are 3000 years old. Stone garden with the area of 10 000 sq km. Sharp
contrast with nature of the lake Baikal. The route is along the northern steppes
of Asia. A visit to Barguzin village, the first Russian settlement behind Baikal
(Transbaikal or Transbaikalian Land).
