The “Naadam” festival tour (July 11, 12)

This tour will show you the “Three games of men” which will take place in Ulaanbaatar only once a year on July 11th. You will see boys and girls riding horses, wrestling men showing their courage and strength and archery competitions.

Duration: 7 days/6 nights

ITINERARY

Day 1.  Arrive  in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to hotel (reservation must be made 8 weeks in advance). Ulaanbaatar city tour. Visit Natural History museum and National Mongolian museum. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. After breakfast visit Buddhist Monastery: Gandan Hiid that is the biggest in Mongolia; visit the Art museum. Visit the ancient palace of Mongolian emperor (Bogd Khan). The afternoon is free for shopping. In the evening, you will attend the spectacle of music and Mongol dancing, dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. After Breakfast participate in the Naadam festival opening ceremony and enjoy wrestling. Lunch at the restaurant of the city. Continue to participate at Naadam festival and enjoy archery contests. Dinner at the restaurant of the city. Walking tour in evening Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4. After breakfast drive to the horse race course and see the daaga (2-year-old horse) race of 10km and the soyolon (5-year-old horse) race of 25km. Lunch at the restaurant of the city. Rest, visit Choijin Lama monastery. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel

Day 5. Breakfast. Driving to the Terelj National Park. Hiking, rock climbing, horse riding. Turtle Rock and the dinosaur statues are the main attractions. Relax in national Ger in the beautiful Khan Khentii Landscape. Walking around. Dinner. Overnight at the tourist camp. 

Day 6. Driving back to Ulaanbaatar. Lunch. In the afternoon driving to Manchir, 50 km from Ulaanbaatar. There you will visit the monastery of Manchir (18th century) and mountain museum. Transfer to Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at the hotel. 

Day 7. After breakfast departure.

Included: accommodation in hotel in UBT*** (twin), accommodation at the tourist camp (twin only), full board at the tourist camp (not in Ulaanbaatar), guide-interpreter, excursions as per itinerary, entrance fees to all museums and National parks acc the programme, all transfers, local taxes, horse riding fee, folklore show, entry fees to Naadam Festival.
