Trekking in National Parks: Ulaanbaatar – Bogdo Khaan Mountain - Terelj - Ulaanbaatar
 

At this tour there are endless possibilities for hiking and trekking through gorgeous hills and amazing cliffs in Terelj area of Gorkhi Terelj National Park. Within one hour driving from Ulaanbaatar you can reach the Manzhir Monastery ruins. It is situated within Bogdo Khaan Mountain National Park where hunting and logging were prohibited in 18th century.

Duration: 7 days/6 nights

Prime season: May,15 - October, 01.

ITINERARY

Day 1.  Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to hotel. Lunch. City tour. Visit Bogdo Khaan Palace Museum. Visit Zaisan hill for panoramic view of the city. Dinner. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2. Breakfast. Visit Gandan monastery and Migjid Janraisag temple. Lunch. Drive to Manzshir monastery. Visit ruins of an ancient monastery and local monastery and local museum. Trekking. Drive to Chinggiz Khaan tourist camp (25 km from Ulaanbaatar). Dinner. Overnight at the tourist camp.

Day 3. In the morning time in leisure at the residence of Chinggiz Khaan and Field Camp of Temujin Khaan. At this place is possible to return to ancient times when Mongolian Khaans ruled the world. Lunch. Transfer to Ulaanbaatar. Visit Choijin Lama museum. In the evening folklore show. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4.  After breakfast drive to Terelj resort / 70 km. Visit Turtle Rock and nomadic family: get acquainted with nomadic life and test Mongolian milk products. Horse riding. Dinner, overnight at the tourist camp

Day 5. Full day walking/trekking. Overnight stay in ger of the tourist camp

Day 6. After breakfast drive back to UBT. Time in leisure. Visit the Natural History and the National History museums. Shopping. Overnight at the hotel 

Day 7. Departure.

Included: accommodation in hotel in UBT*** (twin), accommodation at the tourist camp (twin only), full board at the tourist camp (not in Ulaanbaatar), guide-interpreter, excursions as per itinerary, entrance fees to all museums and National parks acc the programme, all transfers, local taxes, horse riding fee, folklore show.
