Novoselenginsk is a historical settlement of Russian Cossacks since 1665. You’ll find
a memorial of Bestuzhev and Torson Decembrists here. A place of exile of Gannibal, a grandfather of the greatest poet Alexander Pushkin, is here too. Novoselenginsk was
a residence of English Protestant missionaries in 19th century.
